Patrick Johnston has spent more than 20 years running and investing in businesses.
His background is hands-on. Patrick ran a dairy operation and has owned S&P Ranch, LLC, a California specialty crop grower, since 2008. Since 2016 he has also been CEO of AgCentra Capital Management. Across those businesses he has managed payroll, equipment, and liability exposure, and he has dealt with the same rising premiums every mid-sized company faces.
Patrick co-founded 3F in 2022 to give mid-sized businesses an alternative to the commercial insurance pool: an insurance company they own. Today he works with owners in transportation and logistics, construction, healthcare, hospitality, professional services, agriculture, and other industries.
Patrick holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Washington and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
Jonathan has spent his career in financial services and risk management, serving as an operator, investor, and asset manager over a 20-year career. Jonathan previously built and ran SoFi’s mortgage product from inception to product launch and growth into a principal business line for the company. Previously he was a Managing Director at Colchis Capital where he led venture and credit investments and spearheaded the firm’s entrance into new verticals. Jonathan is the named inventor on five utility patents covering credit and alternative financing.
Jonathan holds a B.A. from Harvard University and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
